Not off-topic at all... a very valid segue. I was primarily asking solely on how to transfer data because I was not anticipating programs as there is quite difference in ages of the machines... I was of the mindset that there is an updated program on the new that was similar on the old, ergo- no reason to transfer over any program.
But, I might try to bring over my default .jpg image opening program from the old box. Some folks might have read my
TECHNOLOGY RANT about certain basics of which I was trying to figure out between the two. I also would like to migrate over Adobe Creative Suites if it is possible. Otherwise, I have the CD of the ligit purchase, but I bought it some 6 or so years ago that I would need to dig up.
Thanks for having the patience for someone who is not a geek <-I do not use that term offensively... it is actually a term of respect because those who know this stuff are making a lot more jack than I am.)
