how well does unlimited data work with streaming video

I just switched from DirectTv to DirectTv Now at the house. Went from over 100 to 45 bucks and got rid of my dish. DirectTv Now streams over your internet connection, I use an AppleTv to watch at home. I can't do ATT cell service, but if I could I would as I would get free streaming of DirectTv Now app from my phone.
