Correct but you have to use an android style phone. An IPhone will not work you will only get sound no picture. We connect our phone to the tv wirelessly using a DualMirror model #DMH25 I got at Radio Shack. It sends the signal via blue tooth from the phone to the plug that attaches to the TV in the HDMI port.
My Iphone 7 works great HDMI'd to my TV's. So does my wifes and my brothers.
Yes but mine would not work using the Direct TV App. But they may have corrected it with the IPhone 7.
