I need a Facebook solution please....

My computer has a very strange habit. Previously to a day or two ago, if someone posted a video on Facebook and I wanted to watch it, if I was able to make the video full screen, then it would run just fine.

But if I left it in small screen, Internet Explorer would quit working and I would have to shut it down and then restart facebook. Sometimes I just could not watch facebook videos at all.

But now FB has decided to make videos start immediately when then come up on the screen without having to start them manually. Now, as soon as my computer sees a video, it shuts down Internet Explorer.

It drives me nuts... anybody with an answer??

Just go to Facebook's settings page and turn off Auto Play Videos.

When you find that, please let the rest of us know. I had to switch my FB habit from IE to Chrome because Chrome DOES have an option to turn off Auto Play videos. I wasn't having any video problems, it was just sucking up my monthly bandwidth.
I'm on Firefox and it allowed me to turn them off. I, too, am on limited bandwidth.....GRRR
  • I use Chrome and don't have the shut down issue but I'm REALLY thankful to know how to turn off the auto play vids!

  • Here's how to turn off FB auto-play videos on a desktop/notebook computer:

You might try FIREFOX as well... That is what I am using here with no problems..
  • I had problems with FB in internet Explorer, too. If I go through Google Chrome, it works fine. You might try that. Facebook tends to not play well with others sometimes.
