Then when you add additional costs for the other devices and services how did this compare with the bundled service plan? I think most of us feel we pay more than we should for channels we never watch especially when you add the cable/dish and cell phones together.
You still have to pay COX for your internet connection - or someone. And having a single service from these cable companies often costs more than when paired with one of their other services.
I pay $26.95 for my internet (Juno). I pay $7.99 for Netflix and $8.95 for Amazon Prime. That's $43.89 per month.
My cable bill was over $70 per month and did not include internet (was over $100 for cable & internet last time I checked). I also didn't have any premium channels and was still paying for Netflix and Amazon Prime.
So, I am basically saving the entire cable bill each month. That adds up to over $840 per year. Even if I purchase a movie or series season on occasion, I am well ahead cost-wise.
Everybody's usage and needs are different. Folks should do their own calculations. For me, dumping cable has been a great thing. I didn't watch enough of the cable only channels to make that cost worthwhile.
