as cox is shutting off its analog cable with which our old big analog tv and old analog series 2 tivo have done so well, having no cable card slot on the tivo, we'd be forced into a sub-par cox dvr. ...

We are getting ready to drop cable TV service at home. My discounted/promotional price is about $155 per month for 75mbps internet, TV, and HD-DVR. I have to call every 11 months to get that rate. We already have Prime and Netflix. $20 antenna gets all my locals (no DVR though). Internet only is about $80, and I'll probably add Hulu. Still at least $60/mo savings to lose hundreds of channels we never watch.
