If You Had To Buy A Tablet ?

The RCA tablet we bought have USB, micro USB and mini HDMI ports.

Get rid of that old USB adapter and get a hotspot of your own, or make one with a smartphone. MUCH faster and better service.

FYI, you can also get a USB-to-micro USB adapter, which lets you use the charging port as a regular USB.

I agree with this. It's why I bought the Samsung vs Kindle. If you WANT to use the Amazon apps, including the Kindle reading app, you can easily put them on your Samsung tablet. But you are not forced to use them.

I previously used a NookColor, and it still works, but I wanted something more versatile for travel.

I just changed to a Ellipsis 8 from Verizon, its 4LTE connected with a hotspot so other devices and connect through it. It replaced our Wi-Fi so our plan will not change, it was only 49.99 with a two year contract.

I briefly owned a Kindle Fire something, and I formed the same opinion. It was too Amazon-oriented. I returned it.

We just replaced our netbooks with RCA 10.6 inch 2 in 1 tablets that run on windows 10. I thought about the next size up but my hands are larger and the 10.6 inch is about as big as I would be comfortable with in tablet mode.

Apple vs whatever? It's whatever you get use to.

I've had good luck with Samsung products, and even off-brand $100 stuff for young grandkids.

My Lenovo does have access for USB stick storage
I can plug in a memory stick via cable and transfer files

I have not tried USB to my phone
Don't need to , the tablet has Wi-Fi
And I connect to the phones hotspot access

Thats kind of a ridiculous statement as every smartphone or tablet in use today was invented by Apple; the rest are just copycats... And that history goes back to the Apple Mac GUI that was years ahead of Windows.

I'm not PC bashing or pro-Apple since I have lots of both, but know your products before bashing things you know nothing about because there are advantages to both. One of them with an iPad is that they all work the same. Not so with other tablets but it's your choice.

I was not bashing Apple. I said it was backwards to ME. And I do know enough about Apple (have a McBook Air)to form an opinion about it.
