informed delivery

I am getting this new service from the usps. I think it is pretty darn cool and free.

Each day you get a email early in the morning showing a picture of each piece of mail you are going to get that day. This should also include the mail that is on hold each day. As of right now they limit this to 10 pieces of mail. Also when you go to your mail dashboard you can see any packages that are being shipped and where they are at. (not sure on the exact info on packages) So anyway this is a great service and is free. The way I see it people who go on vacation just might really like this. I like it even when not on vacation because you can see if whats in the mail every morning at the same time.

Just google informed delivery and it will take you there. I have only had it for three days and I think it is way cool.

    Just something else that will cause the price of letters go up. I'll be glad when we have fully Privatized mail service and stop the USPS waste.

    It sounds cool to me, so I signed up, but I can't enroll online. I'll get the questions to answer, and the correct answers are pretty obvious to me, but for some reason it fails, telling me to try again in 72 hours. I have an option to go to a physical location, but not sure it's worth my time.

    Thanks for the information. I received an email today with pictures of my mail, really neat thing when you're on vacation or don't feel like walking to the mail box. :)

    Agreed. Junk mail is a real problem for PO boxes. There should be a way to only allow delivery of 1st and 2nd class mail to the box.

    Informed mail wouldn't have helped me.

    When Rv'ing I am not able to check mail everyday. And since I only had Sprint and storage bill sent to po box monthly. That would be 2 letters per month, I figured there wouldn't be a problem not picking it up regularly.

    Well unknown to me the post office CLOSED my po box because Good Sam had over loaded it up 'daily' with all their junk mail. Add insult to injury I could not reopen my po box unless I went there in person.

    Still think Good Sam should have had to pay for my expenses to travel 2,500 miles both ways to open my closed po box that THEIR copious junk mail caused.

    Nah---after jumping thru all the hoops,I find "address not eligible"

    Informed Delivery is available on My USPS and from the USPS app now, but I still like getting the emails instead of remembering to check the app or site. I also like the My USPS update text messages when I have a package coming.

    Great info!

    We snowbird for four months a year and have our mail forwarded. This will allow me to know what is one it's way.

    Not silly if you have a Post Office Box and must drive a bit to get to it. Nice to know when you do not need to bother going to get mail.
    X2 My PO is a 15mile 1/2 hour trip to find only junk mail.
    It is also handy as we have another place we used to live and some mail goes there and is on hold. It will be nice to see if anything important has come.
