Installing HDMI on 2012 Tour.

I get High Definition and sound on standard coax cable direct from my antenna to the Television. Input to our cable box at home is via standard coax cable, but the cable box only outputs HD on the HDMI or composite connections. Cable signals are now all encoded only to prevent theft.

I use a wireless HDMI in the house, works great.

X2 on the wireless HDMI solution.

RCA composite cabling (R/W/Y) will not carry an HDMI signal. You need the 5 wire (R/B/G/R/W) to carry HD and it is still inferior to HDMI cabling.

Don't buy a cheap one, you'll regret it.

Good quality, long HDMI cables are difficult, expensive, and don't bend well.

If the RCA cables are Red Green Blue with Red and White for audio, that's component which to my eye is as good as HDMI. If the RCAs are just Red White Yellow, that's not good.

I ran a heavy duty HDMI cable to the TV in my galley slide and basically attached it to the cable support under the slide with the rest of the cables. Sure it bends, but so do all the other cables.
