Search the forums for one of two keywords. There are a number of threads on both:
1) "DDWRT" this is a firmware for wireless routers that has far more flexibility than the firmware that most routers come with. If your router supports it and many do, it is free and powerful. There is an option called "universal wireless repeater", this allows you to do exactly what you are trying to do.
2)"Jefatech", this company has a Long Range Wireless Repeater kit for RV's. It is basically the same as above, but it is prepackaged for someone who is less comfortable doing it themselves. The solution ships with everything needed. You just need to mount and plug in.
In both cases, the high gain antenna is not required, especially if you are just connecting the router to a hotspot in your trailer, but it is handy for those campgrounds where you are really far away from the nearest access point. There are a few threads discussing how to mount the antenna, such as on a Batwing TV antenna (my personal favorite), telescoping flag poles, on your ladder, etc...
