Internet Explorer problem????

For some time now, I have been having a problem with my computer. I can fumble along on my computer, but I am far from an expert at the computer. On my taskbar, if I click the internet explorer emblem for my homepage, that I have had MyYahoo on there forever, it comes up that "This page cannot be displayed." I have found that if I click the refresh button it will then come up. Then if I click the sidebar stories, Internet Explorer will at times quit working, and the only way I can get it back is to run my CCleaner, which requires me to put in all of my passwords on most of the sites that I go back in on. I have Windows 7 and this has only been going on for about a month. I have tried wiping the MyYahoo off and reloading it, with no help. It acts like it just doesn't like Yahoo. I have my stockmarket information and everything I like on there, so I don't want to get rid of it. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks.

Mike

  • That is on my selection for home page on the internet options, and always has been. Thanks.

  • I may have to try an alternative for Yahoo, but I like all of the stuff they provide. Triker33, thanks, I will try that with Ccleaner.

  • Up in the upper right corner is a "geer" for tools. click on "internet options" That is where your options for home page are.
  • I believe Yahoo was bought by ATT awhile ago and many friends of mine that have Yahoo noticed the problems you are having and in one instance, they found the stock market button was removed from the strip at top causing them much concern. I called ATT and the tech told me that they did make some changes to the Yahoo platform which probably caused the problems. I don't know for sure but am just contributing to the thread.
  • In open CCleaner click on the Options on the left....then cookies...then move the ones with passwords etc to the right column.

Then they won't be removed when running the cleaner.
