Ios 8.1 out today
Added Apple Pay, and fixed a bunch of reported problems. It fixed my IPads Safari browser problems. yeah! I hear 8.2 and 8.3 aren't far behind.

I accidentally allowed my 5s to upgrade to iOS8, so now I am stuck updating to each patch. I wish I had waited a bit till they got it nearly bug free in whatever 8.x version that turned out to be.
experience with both MS and our proprietary software at work has taught me not to rush like a lemming to the upgrade cliff. other than wanting to be the first one through the door I don't see any reason to upgrade as soon as the upgrade is available.
