iOS vs Android

The only advantage I see would be to keep it compatible with your tablet if you have one and any other toys you have.

Price is the biggest difference. You'll probably pay a lot more for the similar performance and features in an iPhone.

In my opinion, I don't think its makes any difference in the end result. As Fizz said, make it compatible with your other 'toys'.
I stayed with the Apple, because most of the family I depend on also have the Apple Iphones. That said, the Iphones connects to my Windows 10 laptop through iTunes.
Once you get used to one or the other, it probably won't be any problems to use.

I have had both for years......and still can’t advise which is best.....Apple keeps a tighter reign on their products and iOS.....thus perhaps a bit more secure. The corollary is the Android May offer more flexibility than the iOS device. Also, as previously mentioned here, the Android probably gives more bang per buck, assuming you are talking quality units like Samsung has to offer.

Android is selling 3 phones for each iphone. Sooner or later there will be apps that the iphone does not have. The latest iteration of the iphone does away with the headphone jack in favor of a propitiatory connector.

Android is my choice

Have gone all iOS for both phones and tablets. They just work day in and day out. Not perfect but now use them for all computer needs. Except for doing my taxes which requires Windows.

When replacing an iPhone a couple of years ago, my son convinced me to get an android phone (Samsung Galaxy). I’ve not been satisied with the android and if it wasn’t so expensive, would have gone back to iPhone long ago.

The android has not been very reliable. Comparing the two, I never had a single problem with the iPhone. Additionally, it is so easy to interface with my iPad, my wifes, family’s iPhones, etc.

Everyone has their opinion, and mine is iPhone all the way. More expensive, but well worth it.

my preference is Android
i've been on the Android band wagon ever since the very first Motorola Droid

with my Android if i need a new battery, or just want to carry a spare,
easy to change, pop off the back and replace, same for increasing the memory, change the micro SD card
need to charge can't find the cable , any extra micro USB cable and charger will work
i don't need iTunes to transfer pictures or video or music to or from the android phone

apple is a closed system with propitiatory connectors, take it to store to replace the battery (yes there are DIY videos, it can be done, but it was not designed for that)

and it will cost you ore than the avg Android phone, yes there are $1000 android phones, but with android you have a many times wider choice range in price and size and things like camera features

unless you have an over riding reason to go apple,
i suggest Android

maybe go into the phone store and handle and play with each and see what you like
get your smart phone friends to demo their phones to you
