Turned in the Sudden Link cable internet because were heading home. Got the passwords for a couple of wifi spots from 2 neighbors. Around 200 feet away. iPad just wont stay connected. Figured it was just too far. Fired up my 6 year old HP laptop and bingo great internet. Did some Goggling and found it was a weak point in iPad, but just gave suggestions how to improve it in the house with your own router but not much on getting a stronger outside signal. Saw there are other inner antennas available but not sure how good they are and how easy to install. Any suggestions?
Here is how I do it in assorted parks...
Outside the motor home, atop the flag pole is a Linksys WGA-54G, this is a Wi-Fi "modem" the client side has a standard Rj-11 (LAN) port
Connects to the WAN (Internet) port on my house router
My assorted devices (2 DVR's 2 Androids and 3 computers) connect to the router.. NOTE: only one of the computers sucks data big time. the others sip a bit from time to time but only one really uses the net.
Fun setup. You now those ads for DVR's that let you record in one room and watch in another record and/or watch 2 shows at one time,, Mine have been doign that for ... Well the motor home is a 2005, I have had them since I think 2002.
