iPad Update

always be sure to complete a backup before updating software

Well, I did the update and shortly thereafter lost the iBooks app. Fortunately, I was able to get it back from the App Store. All else appears normal but I'm going to be more careful with updates in the future.

I haven't had problems with updates for IPad 2 which is now really old. With yesterday's update, I am ready to connect to an Apple Watch, LOL.

Just updated my iPhone 5 to 8.2. Smoothest update ever, cell network came back right away.

My iPad mini and ipad 2 did just fine with the update. DH and I each have an iPhone 5, haven't done them yet. Updating my iPhone is always a white knuckle experience because my phone tends to have a hiccup finding the cell carrier if the connection is ever disrupted, such as if I have to turn the phone off and on for some reason. DH's phone doesn't behave that way. Thus, I hesitate, but I guess I should get on with it. 8.2 was downloaded to my other devices while they were charging overnight. It hasn't been pushed to the iPhones yet.

its never just an app update. there is a significant amount of tuning that goes on... Wifi antenna tuning, cell carrier. debugs from error codes that apple receives... better memory handling..

it also provides crucial battery usage data and memory usage to help with further iOS upgrades and hardware changes.

Do the updates... it also keeps security tight... there is a reason why iOS devices rarely get hacked... Android OS is a sespool of hacking bugs...

This makes me ask a question I have wondered about. If you skip an update & another one is released can it be done if you skipped one?

this methodology no longer works...

Whenever you do a restore... the latest version of the OS is installed. Most likely it clears the issue with a clean install and then an app update and install.

iphone firmware prevents you from going backwards in iOS versions

After updating my iTunes radio is not working. The iTunes radio doesn't work on my notebook, iPad and iPhone. It might have nothing to do with the update, perhaps the iTunes Store.
