From personal experience I find Iphones to be a real pain. Their antenna is so weak that in fringe areas they do not get reception. But to each his own
I live in an area that cell reception is sketchy and have no problems with my iPhone 5 or my iPad. I had the same reception when I had the Droid X before the iPhone.
