Is AnybodyThere?

Over the past several days I have repeatedly and at different times of the day reach one of CW's customer service numbers ( have tried them all) and only get a long-term irritating announcement "Thank you for continuing to hold.Message ___" followed by how many messages I've listened to. After 30 such announcements I usually give up.

I am trying to determine if the Elements Tire Covers, Item # 84124, is still available and, if so, can someone there please take my order? I have also tried email and your Web site to no avail.

Do yourself a huge favor and check Amazon or eBay.

Already have. This particular item seems to no longer exist anywhere.
  • Hello JackInAZ,

Thank you for writing in and my sincere apologies for the trouble. If you could send us a private message with your best contact information, I can have someone reach out. Camping World has invested in a new Online Ordering and Distribution System. Our plan was to install the new system prior to the camping season. Unfortunately, our Programmers encountered challenges that caused a delay of the launch and additional unforeseen challenges during the launch which have caused delays to store shipments and online orders. Our teams are working tirelessly to get the new system working properly and have made great strides. Our Distribution Centers are ready for the season and full of product. Currently, trucks are rolling with product to our Super Center locations. Online orders are being processed and expedited. We apologize for any inconvenience and assure you that we are working very hard to correct this situation.

You have been "addressing" it for weeks! What kind of company rolls out a new system that does not work for weeks? (Besides the government)

Beta testing rarely, if ever, results in a seamless transition to live operation of a new system, government or any other entity. Additionally it is also extremely rare for the install to conform to the projected install time line. CW surely would prefer not to be experiencing the shake down difficulties or the protracted install time line.
These problems are a reality that occurs for which the only cure is perseverance and diligence. It is a real safe bet that CW would prefer not to have encountered this issues but, they have and they are addressing the issues expeditiously I believe.

You're right "Beta" testing shouldnt be done on-line. Thats why you build it and mirror the legacy system for weeks before going "live". If it blows up its usually a simple matter to fall back..
  • This system should still be alpha testing! You beta test BEFORE you go live or you revert back when the system does not work. There is NO reason for a system to be put online like this. You have no idea how many customers you have lost over this fiasco. Whoever is in your IT SHOULD BE ASHAMED! I for one will never shop with you again.
  • In fairness, Elizabeth did respond to my PM and shortly thereafter GS' Denver office called me and took my order by telephone, promising shipment from the manufacturer within two weeks. The item was not anywhere on the Web or current catalog but was - strangely - in stock so I'm hopeful.
  • JackinAZ-

I'm glad I could be of assistance, and feel free to reach out if you have any other questions. Thank you!

Come on! Microsoft has done this since their beginning, launch then update as needed. It is not the end of the world people.
