Smart phone or jet pack are the accepted methods of getting wifi. Both are thru your cell provider of course. Verizon is acknowlwdged as the best overall coverage followed by AT&T.
As far as television? Depends on what you want. Both Dish and Directv offer decent service packages at comperable prices. Direct seems to have better sports packages if thats your thing. Just be aware, once you select a provider it can get expensive to switch.
Dish offers one advantage over Direct, you can use a dome style antenna for Dish HD programming. But then again domes drawback is rain fade in bad weather.
Personally we have both, a Winegard Travler on the roof and a tripod mounted ground antenna for the times were in the trees.
