Might want to review what you are talking about. My description of both options are very accurate. The Winegard antenna lowers parallel to to the roof center line. If there is nothing directly behind the Winegard antenna is just lays there flat on the roof. If there is something too close you can cut off some of that element to clear the obstruction. Not the best option, but certainly an option. If width is an issue, see the above instructions. The Winegard antenna NEVER lowers to the roof sideways and that's never the reason a manufacturer installed a Jack. There is one and only one reason a manufacturer installs a Jack antenna. Wait for it..........the Jack is cheaper than the Winegard. If you believe there is any other reason, I have this bridge for sale.......
