Unless you intended it as a threat, I still don't see how you think the guy should have responded to your "assertion".
Great response....more or less the way I should of said it. Going off what you had told him and your responses to those who disagree with you, then I would of said that you would get it at Amazon in hopes of the guy trying to stop you from doing so. As Francesca mentioned, it was the end of the conversations. The guy called your bluff and said ok. Not bad customer service.
