Kindle Fire games/apps

Last year, bought 2 Kindle Fires for grandkids to use at our house. One I got some games on it during the first 30 days when they were free, but other one I didn't.They moved to Missouri in August and we want to send them to them for Christmas.I would like to put some games on the other before we send it,but do not want to leave a credit card open that would allow them to keep adding apps at my expense. Is there a way to pay for apps without opening an account?
  • I just bought a Fire for my daughter for Christmas and loaded a few free games on it she and my son really like (Hill Climb Racing, Subway Surfer and Despicable Me: Minion Rush). There is a parental setting on the Fire that will prevent them from downloading any game (free or paid) if you turn it on; you have to enable the parental controls and set up a password for the feature.
  • You could include an Amazon gift card so they can choose their own apps, or use the gift card to put them on yourself. Also, if the Kindles are registered in your name, I believe there is a setting that they can't purchase anything without knowing your Amazon password.
