Your KVH has only 1 LNB (called a dual LNB due to having dual outputs). It can see only one satellite at a time and usually just the 101 satellite for the DTV SDTV programming.
To change from this setup to a tripod mounted SL5 antenna you will need to go to Menu>Settings>Satellite>Repeat Satellite Setup>Dash and then set the new antenna type and switch type here. While here, click on Signal Strength and then Signal Meter. Get yourself locked onto the 3 main satellites (99, 101, 103) with 70+ signals and then complete the setup routine. You should be watching TV once you have it all setup correctly.
