Land and sea wifi device.

Has anyone seen or heard about this device? Did a topic search on the Technology Corner that turned up 0 results.

  • My main reason for even looking for such a device was so my wife didn't have to trek over to the access point( club house, generally) to use her computer. Since we are members of TT and most definitely try to get our moneys worth out of it, I think this will work out quite well. I took the advice of others and mounted the device on my crank up TV antenna.
  • Just too many software updates required to keep a WiFi Ranger (any product) running.

While I believe you are correct, this particular unit is plug and play, no reconfiguring of settings, no software install and for me, the very uninformed, it was worth a try.

With that being said, my first impressions are positive. Just on a quick check here at home, with just the computers internal antenna, I receive about 4 local Wi- Fi locations, with the Rogue-wave, I receive roughly 50. Keep in mind, the majority of these are encrypted and many have a low signal strength but just the same, it does pull in the locations. At my last Thousand Trails park, I could barely connect to their Wi-Fi at our site but with the Wave, I had a reliable signal and connection. I'm sold!

  • On another note, if you decide to purchase this, call and ask if you can get the discount code......they have a space for such a code on the on line order form.....so simply by asking they knocked off 25.00. Hey, every little bit helps. Info only...
  • If your Link is to the Wi-Fi Rogue by Land and Sea, mine was just delivered this morning. Give me a week or so and I'll let you know how it functions.
There are several reviews on line regarding this product and its performance within the RV community, that's what lead me to it plus a few members here who have installed it had positive comments.
