There are a number of manufacturers that make amplifier/routers that should be able to help you, although a quarter of a mile is a significant challenge if it is wooded as you say. Since I work for one of the companies I can't provide you any specific advice on this forum but I'm sure others will make recommendations. If you wish to know more I'd be happy to respond to a PM.
