US Lighting and Energy PolicyEffective January 1, 2014, the United States, Canada, Malaysia and Korea will begin phasing out incandescent bulbs. Other countries started in 2005 and we are finally catching up. Switch to CFL or LED...because incandescent bulbs will go the way of the tube television...adios! it's about time...incandescent bulbs will be able to be sold and manufactured under a few restrictive conditions but I doubt we will ever see them as incandescent bulbs are energy hogs and really inefficient.
Each State will implement phase out dates..I believe California's is December 31, 2016. I don't know the other States, as I was employed in California when it was signed into law in 2007.....Dennis
