- GordonThreeExplorerLithium IRON Phosphate but I was too lazy to type phosphate
- mr__edExplorerBTW, it's lithium ION. :)
- SidecarFlipExplorer IIIGotta keep the Chinese in business... That is where they come from....
- theoldwizard1Explorer IIAs stated LiFe cells are MUCH safer than LiCoO2. They will not explode/catch on fire. They do require unique charging !
Personally, I would never install a large LiCoO2 battery pack in any of my vehicles. - MrWizardModeratorMath
there are 60 cells, like long FAT 'D' cells
each cell is 3.2v 5400MaHrs aka 3.2v 5.4 AmpHrs
4 cells in series, make ONE 12.8v battery 5.4 AmpHrs (like putting two 6s together, only 4 cells instead of 6 cells)
15 (sets in parallel) make one 12.8v battery at (15*5.4)=81Amphrs
this is how lith batteries are built, out of banks of cells
you need to assemble them into the correct configuration
4s15p
the word 'battery' is an old word meaning a group of guns/cannon
the word battery means multiple
a FLA battery has (3) cells if its 6v and (6) cells if it is 12v
each cell is nominally 2.14v when fully charged depending on chemistry
if you have a 100ampHr battery each cell is 100AmpHr at 2.14v
the problem with lithium is making large cells that are stable
hence all the different chemistries that are being developed and phased out or in as need be
liFe is safer but heavier and less energy dense verus weight
than LiPo which is very light weight, high energy dense and likes to to self destruct, because it is not as stable - GordonThreeExplorer

Yeah. Plenty of good systems for 18650 cells but this guy is in a weird package. Have to build a battery terminal welder. - GordonThreeExplorerWhy does the amp hour figure keep changing? Don and Wiz seem low, so are wa8 and me high?

- LwiddisExplorer IIMy doctor has me stay away from excess iron.
- MrWizardModeratorYes
Comes to 4s15p when arranged for a 12v system
12.8v, approx 1kw hour,
Approx 81 Amphrs
I saw that last night
$400, for a lithium bank 324 Amphrs
To replace the 675 ampHr agm bank
Actually it would be a new project for a different RV
Wheels are turning in my head, but money is tight right now
