Looking at Wireless Home Phone? Is it really portable???

I was at a Verizon Store and was ask about my home phone. I was quoted a wireless home phone for $20. a month with unlimited long distance.
I was told that I could take it on vacation and have my home number with me.
Also told the device has an 8 hour backup battery.
Reading the comments a lady said she talked to her daughter for 2 hours while driving on the road traveling.
Does anyone have this service and is it really this convenient?

It is that convenient. We couldn't use it while moving because the base to our cordless phone has to be plugged in, but it worked great in the trailer. We used it in 10 states this summer. The only drawback to having your home phone with you is that telemarketers and other people you don't want to talk to can find you.

The website says for $2. more you can get caller ID.

  • Don't have it but looked at it myself. As long as you have a wireless signal it will work. It can be plugged into any power outlet. For me, I had to put a Verizon home cell tower in. Connects to cable modem and gps and pumps up my wireless signal.
Looking to switch to it shortly.
