Looking for a good cell phone booster

We are wanting to camp at the local national forest and the campground is about 5 miles from the nearest cell signal. Will a booster help with this? If so, what do you recommend? We have service with AT&T and I have an iPhone 6 and my wife has an iPhone 5. We also have an iPad with cellular internet.
  • I highly recommend and use the Wilson Sleek with a roof top antenna. I am in the telecommunications business and have bench tested their devices.

No it will not create signal where there is none. They do an incredible job when there is a bit and really help when you are sitting inside a metal vehicle.
  • The Wilson Sleek was highly rated by other mobile internet experts (Technomadia) so I bought one. It really came in handy on my last trip in West Virginia. The campground said cell phone service was very poor in the campground (located in a holler) but with the Sleek I was able to work with my hotspot and phone.

Be patient . There are going to be a variety of new products on the market soon. The FCC is finally looking at products and testing to see if they pass the new regulations

    Ask the right question.

That is: What if any wireless carrier works there.
In some areas, AT&T has service where nobody else does.
In some REALLY rural areas, there is service from an odd-ball independent only.

If there IS a working signal there from anybody, then ask your company if you can "roam" onto their signal.....and the price of doing so.

Before putting out alot of money I would first check with the campground and find out if VERIZON works there or not... If it does you could get VERIZON SERVICE from WALMART pay as you go plan rather cheap. Then you could create your own WIFI HOTSPOT with this to run all of your AT&T units..

VERIZON is well know to have the best coverage all over the US...

Getting a YAGI type antenna from WILSON ELECTRONICs along with WILSON cell phone Amplifers etc is a hit and miss thing and could cost a bunch of monies... You still won't know if it works or not until you get there...

    Just a thought..

will your phone is a signal, some signal, even if you drop the call, will it call out

if it does then a booster might help
if it does not, then a booster may not help
there has too be something for the booster to work with
