Loss of DISH satellite signal, need ideas for snow

If all else fails.. Air compressor with a long wand before a jet nozzel (Dust off nozzel) I can design it from other products if you need. easy to do.

Spray De-Icer works also.

Rust Oleum Never Wet works very well. Used it on my dish at the S&B.

All of the above sound like good ideas. If you need a little something extra, I keep an extendable broom in the basement. It has four sections and goes out quite a long way with a small-ish V-cut broom head at the end.

Dish heater would be my suggestion as well. It will work better than anything else and give you excellent service despite the weather. Too much snow falling (not on the dish but falling) can still dramatically reduce the signal available but it will eliminate the snow on the face of the dish.

I've had pretty good luck with the dish at our upstate NY cottage by coating it with a dry silicone spray. If you're in an area on the east coast that uses the Dish eastern arc satellites, the higher elevation angle than the DTV sats or the Dish western arc makes snow or ice control more difficult. You might want to consider one of the available dish heating pads that melt the snow as it accumulates.

Second on the wax or Rain X. I use wax on the Dish in the yard twice a year and Rain X on the dish dome on the roof of the motor home first time out and again about 3 months later!
