Lube Pump Front Wheel Drive

I noticed on the Camping World website that I can get a lube pump for a front wheel drive vehicle for flat towing.

Since I found out my 2008 Ford Escape, XLT, f/wheel drive automatic isn't flat towable this seems like it will prevent me from getting another car just to tow.

Has anyone tried / used this product? Does it work and hold up?

Any thoughts?
  • I had a Remco transmission lube pump on my '99 Regal toad for 3-4 years with no problems. You should make sure that the transmission getting lubed is the only reason not to flat tow the Escape.
  • These lube pumps come from Remco Towing. There is not an application for the 2008 Ford Escape. Per the manufacturer of the lube pump this vehicle must be towed on a tow dolly or trailer.
  • You can also look for lube pump for a front wheel drive vehicle on the Carpartkings, there a lot of necessary things i found, which can be useful

Bumpyroad, do these pumps have a problem like not working very often or were you making a joke? What do you know about them? Been considering buying one, but not if they have a high failure rate.
  • I think he was just saying that if it stops working, then you will have serious problems.

do a search. there have been issues with them. don't know the % of failure rate but if it is yours that stops working it is 100%
