Malwarebytes??
When running Windows 10 / Norton 360 or Windows Defender, is Malwarebyes (1) necessary and (2) worth the cost to keep a computer safe? Looking for opinions, comments and or alternatives..

- Cost? Can you not run the free version? IMO it depends on where you go on the web, who you visit, and what you download. Maybe yes, maybe no.
- I personally think the WIndows defender is sufficient.
- Windows Security Essentials is what I use, basically an older version of Defender, but I admit that it is not the best by a long shot. But it works for the way I surf.
If you're not "net savvy" then Malwarebytes is a good tool to have in your box. - Malwarebytes is an excellent program and the free version works as well as the subscription version.
- I use Malwarebytes on my Mac Mini. The tech at the genius bar recommended it.
- I use Malwarebytes (free), CCleaner (free) and NORTON $39?/Year. Price goes up every year...not much, tho. Windows 7 Pro.
Seeing my machine has no problems, I must presume all these "protection" programs work.
Now...having said that........................ - avast free edition (my primary)
ccleaner free edition (occasional)
malwarebytes free edition. (occasional) - Back in the days when I was very active in fighting hackers and scammers the rule was THREE anti-malware programs.. I won't tell you what programs I used, save for Malware Bytes.. But Norton and McAffee were NOT on my systems. Especially McAffee. Another one I would avoid is Kaspersky.
- Defender is good but Malwarebytes free finds more.
- I do AVG Free always, and Malwarebytes free if I suspect something.
