Manual Winegard Sattelite dish...is it junk

If you have DirecTV, go to the website, there is a page called something like "aiming the dish"....type in the zip code, it's all there.
We have the "old" system...a dish, single LNB, strength meter and compass. The only time we use it is when we go, say snowbirding or stay somewhere for at least a week. Otherwise we use the cg cable system.
DirecTV will not have SD after 2019. I read an article that said the "bird" will run out of fuel by then and, I guess burn up in the atmosphere...or become space junk. After that, HD only.
I have SD in the bedroom (that I use for the RV too) and have HD with the living room large flat screen. Having to wait an astounding EIGHT MINITS for the HD box to boot up (power failure, for instance) I can't imagine doing that in an RV. But...that might be the future.
