Maps changes after downloading new upgrade to IPhone 6?

We did the software update to our I phone 6...and now find that our previous ability to map routes between two future destinations, along with route options, has disappeared! Are we missing something...

I can have the app map the route between any two points in need. iPhone 8 Plus or IPad Pro running latest IOS version. I just planned a trip from home to Alabama to Mississippi to Alabama to Florida to Georgia to home. No problems.
