I don't know where you got your information but it's incorrect. Verizon did not acquire Millenicom. Verizon refused to negotiate a new contract with Millenicom and in effect put them out of business. Millenicom had to lay off all of it's employees with no notice of termination, and minimum severance pay.
As to being able to still signup for Millenicom service at $89.99, I suggest you go to the Millenicom website and try. When you try to buy a plan you will find it says "NO PLANS AVAILABLE".
I think the confusion is a result of former millenicom customers being offered similar VZW plans.
