Alternative awnings

Question

I had horrible problems with my factory awning which is huge, fragile and 100% useless to me causing nothing but trouble. I haven't used it once but it nearly ruined my travel twice already. Its going to the landfill, anyway.

Anyone familiar with light / ultralight compact small awnings sort of like for vans or overlanding jeeps that can be put on RV at 11ft height approximately? Manual. Im using instant 10x10 canopy which meets all my shade needs and can be setup anywhere but wonder if theres light option that can be installed on RV. Im not sure about creating new attachment point for an arm in the middle of RV though without damaging stuff.

I use 10x10 instant canopy. But it does not replace RV awning. It is also a major PITA to setup, carry and take down. Not to mention this process hurts my injured shoulder. Google search doesnt help answering if 20 foot RV factory awning can be replaced with much smaller one, will there always be good attachment points .

Would be good to hear from someone with actual experience in this matter, who replaced the huge monstruocity with smaller lighter awning

30 year full-timer in 14 different rigs here. &nbsp;Try a Google search for what you are looking for as there are many options out there. &nbsp;For us, a 10x10 canopy which is easy to put up and down and can be placed anywhere works the best for us.
