Good post.
I'm amazed how some don't get it and continue to whine instead of making a decision to move forward.

Those disdaining VZW are only "cutting off their nose to spite their face". If you want reliable data, VZW is the most reliable, available almost anywhere option. They currently have cheaper data through the end of the month on "the more everything" plan with smart phones.
We don't know what transpired between VZW and Millenicom and may never know. I signed up today and will be getting 10GB more per month for $20 less per month than I was paying for VZW plus Millenicom.

I stopped in and talked to a Verizon rep at one of their stores. My Millenicom MiFi 4620LE Jetpack will work with their plans - just need to get a new Sim card from them.

Btw, I am a former Millenicom subscriber and have a Jetpack I don't use. They priced themselves out of my range. Our area stinks for coverage.

by the way it is "Millenicom".
All I can say is Verizon must not want my business. I'm not calling them a 3rd time.
I shall take it else where.
Well, don't take it to Sprint. That is my warning to everyone that wants to have data/internet while on the road.
Their DATA coverage map looks really good... until you zoom down just two or three clicks. All that dark purple goes to light purple(roaming only). You will only get 100mb-300mb data while on roaming.
I received my hotspot device on Thursday.. realized that their data coverage was NOT at all good enough... returned it in person to the corporate store on Monday. All those promises on the phone and in the chats about "all service charges) being credited if I returned it to them in 14 days, has not come to pass. My ending account invoice shows $87.30 due. Crediting "all services" was supposed to include the re-stocking fee ($35) but I had to pay that in the store for them to take it back. I was even on the phone with Sprint cust service while I was in the store returning the device to argue there should not be a restocking charge. I was told that on a previous phone call and I was told it was noted on my acct in the final notes. (The guy inside the store told me that "that wasn't a sure thing". )
I realize that this world is changing... Sprint obviously feels that misleading custgomers and lying are acceptable in business transactions.
Verizon won't get a dime from me because of what they pulled and how they are not responding to Millenicom customers who they have "acquired".
Basically, that leaves ATT ... and I don't know if they are any better than Sprint or Verizon. I have not dealt with them since 2002. - LearjetExplorerby the way it is "Millenicom".

and i agree.. so far this does Not look good.. - TXicemanExplorer IIWith Verizons approach to this issue, I will be trying to find an alternative that is not Verizon if at all possible. Verizon is doing a lot of folks dirty and cost Millenicom employees their job.
All I can say is do your own research and see what alternate works for you.
Ken - Bill_SatelliteExplorer III understand that you are trying to keep the information on this thread from creating an unnecessary panic. I'm not sure why anyone would panic about the loss of internet for a day or 2 but the reality is that the current "bonus" data is scheduled to expire after Halloween. If I were Verizon I would not contact a Millenicom customer until that offer had expired. However, I am NOT Verizon (call me Mr. Obvious). This is not a warm and cozy merger. It's a hostile take over by Verizon which forced Millenicom to surrender all of their Verizon customers. Millenicom "requested" that Verizon not interrupt service but they cannot control anything that Verizon does or does not do.
Put your fate in the hands of Verizon or take some action of your own to ensure you get the best deal that will likely be available to anyone.
On the other hand, there's really no reason anyone should listen to me. Just don't come back trying to find out why Verizon "did this to me".
