- TomG2ExplorerA one year contract for $1,080 isn't what I am looking for. Verizon must be in a charitable mood.
- MrWizardModeratorNot bad news...That's good news
A promise of continued pricing of $89.99 per month for the next 12 months
Mellenicom could not give you that promise.
Let's hope, everybody else involved has the same good luck
Of course it is a contract and 12 months of service and payment
Not pay as you go, turn on off anytime you want
But I think most of M account holders are continuous users, so it really is not a big change - normaredExplorerI have made contact with Verizon concerning the buy-out of Millenicom wifi / hotspot service.
The new deal basically: you may keep your current wifi / hotspot device, continue to get 20GB of data monthly, at the same price of $89.99 (with a Verizon contract) - for one year. After that, the price will increase to $99.99. In short, 'nothing will change' except you will have to enter into a verizon contract. You still use the same hotspot device you got from Millenicom.
The GOOD news of this is that it appears that Verizon will {grandfather the 20GB per month data levels} of all users (as in "former" Millenicom customers) into the Verizon service. That 20GB level will not change according to Verizon CS, but that is only available to those that currently have Millenicom --- keep in mind the current price of 10GB data with Verizon costs $120 a month...
So it's bad, but it could be worse? - Dave_From_AKExplorerGot a text message from Verizon on my Millenicom MiFi this morning:
"We want to discuss plan options for keeping your Verizon Wireless service. Please call 800-233-8974 to avoid service disruption on 11/8." - docjExplorer

I think you mean 4G XLTE
LTE has been used synonymously with 4G. XLTE is Verizon's way of talking about hardware that is compatible with the new AWS spectrum. - Bill_SatelliteExplorer IIDon't buy any Verizon device that does not list 4G LTE (4G is not enough) as this is where the new service and the next generation of service is located. - Robin1953ExplorerI was in WalMart today and Straight Talk has a new hotspot device for sale. It is Straight Talk 4GLTE. The cost was $99.98 and you buy the data in 1GB ($15/30 days), 2GB ($25/30 days), 4GB ($40/60 days), 5GB ($50/60 days), or 7GB ($75/60 days). I looked on line but neither WalMart or Straight Talk has the new 4GLTE device listed. This was at the Barboursville, WV WalMart store. They still had the 3G Straight Talk hotspot for $79.98 with the same data buys as listed above. JFYI
- MrWizardModeratorMy experience, , VZW is not cable tv
When you accept a VZW or AT&T promotion...That promotion stays active on your account, until you change it
There is no change in pricing, after set number of months
Example ...There would be no grandfathered unlimited data accounts IF promotions expired and prices changed
If you accept sign up for a AT&T or VZW double data account, the pricing will stay the same, until You do something to change that fact, like accepting a newer promotion for a new phone
The pricing for the double data is NOT going to go up next year, not for you - LearjetExplorer

I understand the double the data for the same price... but that deal is only going to last until sometime in 2015 ( as it stands now) and from what I thought I read from another post... once you double your data you can't go back down to what it was before. So when the deal ends in 2015 you are stuck with the "double data" and you don't know what they are going to charge for it at that point.
Anyone know if I'm wrong on this for sure??
I read the ATT fine print and the deal last as long as you don't change the plan. No expiration date after you sign up. - jyenterExplorerI have been trying to connect to my Millenicom account now for the last day and a half. All I get is connection has failed, have 3 bars showing. Able to post this on my Verizon phone which I have a small data plans. It appears Verizon has cut off my access though Millenicom. I am wondering if other people may have this problem with no other way of posting it.
