Have you looked in Tools, add-ons, Plug-ins to see if Java is activated and if not activate it, Not the deployment tool kit just good old Java
I think JAVA might be the issue. I'm not seeing it anywhere. I'll re-download it tomorrow when I get on Wifi since I'm busting my Gig quota with Verizon. I'll report results.
1492: I don't have the issue here on RV.Net. It's several other sites. Thanks!
No, you DON'T "want" JAVA unless you absolutely NEED IT. JAVA has a lot of known security holes and vulnerabilities. You should be able to completely uninstall JAVA with no side effects at all.
Perhaps they meant JAVASCRIPTS which is NOT THE SAME AS "JAVA"..
I would be very careful and concerned about needlessly allowing JAVA to be run now days. Very few websites use or require JAVA but pretty much all websites use JavaScripts.
Keep in mind that JavaScripts also brings some security issues in the fact that many Malware uses JavaScripts as a quiet way to drop their payloads on to your PC without you noticing.
For that reason I install NOSCRIPT plugin for my FireFox and I only allow the scripts NEEDED to make the website work. A pain in the rear for sure but much more secure than letting everything fly..
For missing pictures I would suggest checking your browser settings, if the security settings have been set to MAX security the browser will prevent a lot of things from loading..
Additionally if it websites you are logged into causing issues it may be individual preference settings for that website that you might need to adjust (many websites have settings which stop photos from loading to save bandwidth).
On top of that is you may be viewing the website via a Mobile OS port which handles picture objects a bit differently than a desktop/laptop..
