Mouse quits?
Each time I shut down the laptop, and start it -- the wireless mouse quits working. I remove the mouse "whatchamacallit" from the USB port, plug it back in, and mouse works again. Any hints why ...

Turn the mouse switch on before you turn on the laptop - not while it is booting.
Unless this is a mouse that you don't use very often, there is no need to turn off the switch. It is not going to draw much from the battery when it is idle. I never touch the switch on my desktop's mouse. If you store this away for days or weeks between uses then turn it off.
