Mouse quits?
Each time I shut down the laptop, and start it -- the wireless mouse quits working. I remove the mouse "whatchamacallit" from the USB port, plug it back in, and mouse works again. Any hints why ...

Agreed. If you are using the computer pretty much every day, just leave the mouse on. Most all the newer wireless mice will go into a low-power sleep mode after a few minutes of non-use.
