That would be my first thought too.. and I've done it many tims
however the person who said the rodent is dying may be right too
But I'd check batteries first (So far that's all I have done,< Check Batteries.. Swap 'em for the pair in the charger,, And continue to use mouse normally for another long period of time)
In normal use my mouse is transmitting, Receiving and LED-ing
When it no longer hears the computer dongle.. Then some mice go into standby.. This greatly lowers power consumption and th battery recovers.. Then you plug dongle back in and it has a bit more power for a few more minutes... So it works, till they hit cutoff again.
