Power is always the issue with video projection. I've not heard of any such projectors, with exception of the LED variety mentioned, that can run on 12V. But they're just not going to be bright enough. You're almost better off just running off an LCD HDTV.
Wish I could be of more help, as have setup a number of outdoor movie screenings in both 35MM/70MM film, and digital cinema projection. Both in the U.S. and Europe. Once for an outdoor concert in a medieval castle in Spain.
Available AC power becomes the primary concern, and I've had to either tie directly into feeder lines or from a generator truck using a 3-phase setup into a 200A distro box.
Luckily, you won't require anything close to this, but still need a source of reliable AC power if you want a bright enough video projection setup.
