Hi Monkey:
We have been down in San Francisco now for about a week. I can certainly agree about the PIA caused by newest version of Hotmail.
First day down here I used one of my daughter's Apple laptops to get my mail. Too much bother to fly down my Asus i7 gaming laptop. I entered with sign-in and was not let in.
Message came up stating I needed to confirm it was really me. Only choice was too chose either ringing, or texting my home phone number (*** *** **75) after filling in some of the missing digits.
Guess what dummies! I am not home! When I could not finish the request I am now locked out of my account without going through H#&L to reset password for use here.
Since I have nothing important needed now it is better to wait until I get home on my own laptop. No need to slip any farther dow their slippery slope. The wife's account on her Kindle Fire works fine (Not Hotmail).
The problem caused here is legit. The "DA moron" who programed security this way is to blame. I suspect your problem is similar.
I know how you feel. LOL.
