Neat Scanner Question
Hi, has anyone purchased and used the Neat scanner? If so, how do you like it and can you export their database to an excel spreadsheet? Thanks,

We've been thrilled with the Neat system in the 3 years we've had it. For RV'ers, it means that you don't have to keep papers.
The scanners are pretty good, but the "secret sauce" is really in the Neat database program (and now with Neat Cloud). The database keeps track of tax information, payee reports, etc. by using a fairly sophisticated OCR subprogram to populate the database fields. But, like all OCR programs, it doesn't always get everything perfect; that's why you need to review and edit. Our editing is perhaps 8-10% of the text scanned.
So, between our Quicken for financial books, Quicken Medical Expense Manager for our healthcare charges (fairly significant), and Neat for the paperwork backup to both of those, we can post it, scan it, shred it and forget it from then on! Major Kudos to the gang from Neat!
