Do you realize that most apps and software today come from countries other then the USA.
Also, no way would I even consider installing McAfee or Norton anti-virus programs. Back in the day maybe but no longer. They are both subpar and place far to many hooks into the operating system. No way would I recommend either!
You are of course entitled to your opinion. I have had Norton for a long time and am very satisfied with it. It is highly rated as are others. As I said, I would rather my money go to an American company. If you want to go "Putin" your money in a Russian company, that's your choice.
