Thanks everyone. Not sure what to think about the Kaspersky issue. I had wondered about the Russian thing. I've had it for many years now with no problems.
It sounds like I'm not in immediate danger of being hacked or other nasty stuff, so I'll take my time deciding on a machine. I definitely want a desktop for home use. I plan to get something with either I5 or I7 (Intel).
Thanks for the tip on making Windows 10 look like an older version. I am very comfortable with Vista and was from the beginning even though there was a lot of unhappy people. I've heard horror stories about every Windows version since. Which is why I stayed with Vista. I know people who refuse to give up on XP even now!
