I just upgraded from a Samsung/Verizon Android phone to a "clean" Android Google Nexus 5x phone and I think it is great. None of the Samsung and Verizon apps that you can't get rid of and since it is a Google phone (manufactured by LG) it makes it easy to live in the Google App world.
And they are quite a bit cheaper than Apple and Samsung equivalents. Check them out at the Google Store. And with an unlocked phone, no carrier contract.
