New Iphone --- Apple or Other?

Sorry, a kind of Chevy/Dodge/Ford question, but will have to invest a lot of my limited brainpower to learn whichever one I get, so any advice?

I'm reading where Tim Cook is no Steve Jobs and that Apple is going downhill. Maybe I should get Android (if that's what you call the alternative).

  • my vote for iPhone.

The android phones have WAY too much garbage going on them before you ever get where you want to go on the phone. I found them very irritating to use.:R

IMHO IPhone is clean and simple to use and I have never had a apple/mac computer either.

I'd strongly suggest you go to their respective stores and TRY 'working/connected' phones before you buy. You have to ask the clerks to use theirs but IMHO worth not ending up with an expensive phone you don't like. Just saying, it's what I found. :C
  • I hadn't heard that the iPhone was the GOLD STANDARD of smartphones! According to who? I've known people who had an iphone, and switched to Android because they liked the Android OS better. Androids are NOT always cheaper than an iPhone either.
  • just from my limited observations, Android appears to be the default OS when a device is not using any other OS (such as Iphone). Can't tell you one is better or worse than the other, but I am on my 2nd Droid phone, my tablet, DW's phone and nook are all Droid OS, so it is pretty common. My thoughts in choosing my devices was to get an OS that is common across various devices as it is frustrating to work between multiple OS.
  • What do you like in a computer? IMO it's an easy transition between Apple OS of various flavors. Android feels more like Microsoft in the interface.

I do not enjoy transitioning between Windows on the desktop and the Iphone.

There are Windows phones again now, just to offer one more option.
  • Really! This is your third topic today about iPhones....

The iPhone is the Gold standard of cell phones right now. For a normal or new smartphone user the iPhone is the best choice. If your a power user or working on a budget then Android is for you. Android OS is far more configurable than iOS for power hungry users.

I suspect rumors of Apples demise are greatly over reported.
