New TV confusion
Storm burned out our 28" TV and began looking at new for replacement but got immediately confused. We have a Samsung 46 that works great (seven years) but have no clue about the new technologies. ...

If you have wifi internet in your home .... you will eventually really enjoy the "computer" technology on today's televisions. You may think you won't, but once you've tried watching YouTube, cancel your cable television or satellite system, you will find the technology of these televisions amazing, and will save you a bunch of $$$ over the cost of cable and satellite.
One thing that IS very disappointing on both Samsung and LG televisions, and we have several of all sizes, is the sound quality.
We ended up getting sound bars for our main televisions, and for inside the camper too. With the woofer on the floor of the camper, our camper really rocks-and-rolls to the beat now! I'm sure, our woofer (even with windows closed) annoys our neighbor campers, as the entire camper vibrates now.
Also, the new style televisions DO NOT have the old style Red-Green-White RCA plugs or ear phone jacks to attach an external speaker. Very frustrating here, but they are all the same. You just can't find a television with an ear phone jack any more. So we are relegated to using sound bars that connect with HMDI cords or bluetooth technology.
Just something to think about before selecting a less expensive, less technology television.
