Just switched from DirecTV to Dish. I bought a King Flex dish. It is similar to the Tailgater but is more costly but permits you to hook up two TVs. Also can receive DirecTV SD signal or Dish HD. When I ordered the Dish service I negotiated two new ViP211K receivers for $45 each. Dish charges $7 a month for RV service if you have home service too. The ViP211 can be set up as a DVR with the purchase of an external hard drive and paying Dish the $40 setup fee. Have not tried that yet but probably will down the road.
With DirecTV I would call and suspend home receivers, activate the RV receivers when on the road and give them the address of where the RV was so that they would furnish the locals.
The big thing is that I have cut my TV service bill in half and am getting more premium channels as a bonus. Once the initial offer expires I will have the same service but will be paying $50 less.
